RUFFLES

I'm obsessed with ruffles right now.  They're just so feminine and flirty.

COLLEEN ATWOOD

The designs of Colleen Atwood continue to blow my mind.  Colleen won the heart of Tim Burton, designing costumes for a number of his films including Sweeney Todd and Alice in Wonderland.  She has an amazing eye for detail and texture.  I am in constant amazement of her playful styling techniques.  Love her.

MY TEENY KITCHEN

I have no work space in my teeny kitchen. I've been trying to figure out how to make it a more efficient space. I found these fun ideas on design*sponge the other day.

Love the chalkboard wall paint.

The open shelves add storage while providing visual interest. Perfect.

Love, love, love. This is such a beautiful way to display spices.

IVORY & WHITE

I have the pleasure of working with the lovely ladies at Ivory & White Bridal Boutique for the next few weeks. I'm assisting Miss Catherine Ryals with gown alterations.  She's so great to work with and I've already learned a few tricks of the trade. It should be an exciting month! Visit the Ivory & White website for more details about this sweet shop and to view a list of designers.

MESSY SUMMER UPDOS

A couple weeks ago, a darling couple said their I do's in a good ole country ceremony under a magnolia tree. The lovely bride, Shannon, asked me to style her hair for this special occasion. Taking into account the informal setting and it being outside, my immediate thought was to give her a casual, messy updo. Here is the sweet couple.

In doing a little research for inspiration I stumbled across these great summer styles.

Diane Kruger with a messy side bun. I love the bobby pins!
This is a refreshing change from the braid.

Love, love, love. The double headband is wonderful.
It helps add that extra band of volume at the center of the style.

Jessica Stam. Need I say more? Always adorable.
