It's Halloween Friday! Designers, of all people, know how to spice up even the most basic of costumes. Check out these lovely couture costumes by John Galliano. Happy Friday!
Up-and-coming designer, Serkan Sarier, recently released a collection of taffeta evening dresses that are not only breathtaking but functional. The collection features shapes that are adorned with drawstrings and zippers allowing for multiple styles of a single garment. His vision was to create pieces that could easily transition from the work place to a formal event. Brilliant!
Lately, my weekends have been packed full of errands, sewing and photo shoots. I finally came up for air on Friday and attended an art auction at Naked Art Gallery benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. If you are unfamiliar with Naked Art, it is a local gallery that features the work of Alabama and South-eastern artists. Owner, Veronique Vanblaere, does an amazing job selecting the items featured in her shop. Most of the art is made from recycled and reclaimed materials, and she only sells functional art - art that can be used as well as admired. These were a few of my favorites, but the shop showcases the work of 60 artists so you will definitely have to stop by and check them out.
If you aren't familiar with ASOS, you need to be. They are an online fashion retailer that carries a ton, and I mean A TON, of fashion and beauty products. It's like one-stop shopping!
The lovely Miss Emma Watson at the Burberry Prorsum show for London Fashion Week. She always looks flawless and her sense of style seems effortless even when she's dressed to the nines.
I'm going to be a busy little bee this weekend working on a photo shoot with Mathieu Schmutzler and Nancy Jones. I'll be posting photos next week, so stay tuned. Have a carefree weekend!
About a month ago, I had the pleasure of styling a photo shoot with Rob Culpepper {Rob Culpepper Photography} and the lovely Kristen Booth. It was shot in two parts - "the party" being the first. I'll be posting shots of "the after party" later this week!
I love these sweet moccasins by Darlingtonia Moccasin Co. The designer, Katie Kukulka, hand crafts each pair using a manual, antique sewing machine. Very impressive.
I've never been one to keep a journal, but these sweet little things sure make me want to start. They're all handmade by Pease Blossom Studio. So adorable.
